Residency Announcement

Exciting news afoot.

If you haven’t already heard, I recently resigned as Head of Arts and regressed to part-time Art teacher …to CREATE

Look out

I’ve been busy winding up my previous role while preparing for an exciting new journey into the heart of the North Midlands at Carnamah to undertake an incredible residency opportunity offered to me through the wonderful people @TheNorthMidlands and @artonthemove

‘Very excited’ is an understatement, while ‘terrified’ might also be read between the lines.

My eight-week residency coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Macpherson Homestead’s reopening in Carnamah in the Mid West. With help from the amazing team at The North Midlands Project, my research will explore the history of the homestead and the relationships between the Macpherson and other settler families and the Amangu and Badymia people over time.

BIG congrats to my fellow 2024-25 Artist in Residence recipients: @taniaspencerartist @shandel|cummings @chelseahopkinsallan_art @rebeccamccauley @toponymic_entropy who also receive up to $20,000 undertake research projects connecting local histories, First Nations culture and the natural environment across regional WA
